Conductor Hilary Campbell has been an innovating force in British choral music, not only as founder and director of her own mixed voice chamber choir, Blossom Street but as a composer and arranger.

Describing herself as a freelance choral specialist,  Hilary has also directed several other major ensembles as a guest or on an ongoing basis. She has two master's degrees, one in conducting from the Royal Academy of Music (where she won three prizes as a student) and one, with distinction, in vocal studies at the University of York. She has also done post-graduate work in singing at Trinity College of Music. In 2012 she returned to the Royal Academy of music as a Meaker Fellow; she was the first choral conductor so honoured, and she has continued to teach at the school and to be associated with it creatively.

Throughout this period, Hilary was working as director of Blossom Street (also known as the Blossom Street Singers), which had been founded in 2003 and with which she issued the holiday album Sleep, holy babe in 2011. She has recorded several more albums with the group on Naxos, including 2019's This Day: Celebrating a Century of British Women's Right to Vote. Hilary has also served as musical director of the Bristol Choral Society, the Chiswick Choir, and the Music Makers of London. She has conducted a large variety of top British ensembles as a guest, including the BBC Symphony Chorus and, as of 2018, the BBC Singers.

Hilary co-founded the VOCALIZES music workshop and the Voices of London Festival. She served as composer-in-residence for the Ebor Singers and has won several awards for her choral compositions. Her arrangement of God Save the Queen was performed on the ITV1 television network and at Wimbledon New Theatre in honour of the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales.

Neil Ferris is the Artistic Director and conductor of the professional chamber choir Sonoro and Music Director of Wimbledon Choral Society, one of London’s leading amateur choirs. In 2017 he was appointed the new Chorus Director of the BBC Symphony Chorus and guest conductor of the National Youth Choir of Wales.

In demand as guest conductor at some of the finest choirs in the UK, Neil has worked with the London Symphony Chorus, the Bach Choir and the BBC National Chorus of Wales, the Choir of the Age of Enlightenment and the BBC Singers. He has prepared choirs for internationally acclaimed conductors including Valery Gergiev, Sir Simon Rattle, Marin Alsop, Bernard Haitink, Sakari Oramo, Carlo Rizzi, Ed Gardner, Donald Runnicles and Martyn Brabbins.

Formerly Head of Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Neil helped establish the international reputation of the choral conducting course and developed the conservatoire’s choral ensembles. He is recognised as one of the country’s leading teachers of choral conducting and has led masterclasses in the UK, USA, Ireland and Denmark.

Neil has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, New Queens Hall Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Orchestra of the Swan, Orchestra Vitae and Florilegium. He made his Royal Opera House debut in a ROH2 production of Will Tuckett’s ballet The Wind in the Willows.

Recordings include an album of the choral music of Jonathan Dove with Convivium Singers released on the Naxos label and Fauré’s Requiem on the Convivium Records label. Resonus Classics has recently released Sonoro’s debut album Passion and Polyphony featuring works of James MacMillan and Frank Martin

Manvinder Rattan is a Choral and Orchestral conductor and trainer of conductors.

Manvinder is the CEO of The Voices Foundation, a national music charity working to help schools, academies, Music Education Hubs, and other partners from across the UK to establish effective music education since 1993.

Manvinder is Musical Director of Hertford Choral Society and Hertford Chamber Choir and has served as Musical Director of the John Lewis Partnership Music Society since 1995. Having inherited one choir, the society now has over eighteen choirs, an orchestra and a jazz band. Manvinder is also Head of Conductor Training for Sing for Pleasure, where the team of tutors teaches around 300 conductors most years, with 100% of respondents rating the training as good to excellent.

Freelance engagements also keep Dr. Rattan busy - guest conducting and teaching both here and abroad - and occasional performances as a soloist, specialising in singing the Adhaan from Karl Jenkins' popular work, The Armed Man and a regular workshop leader for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

In 2012, Manvinder was invited to join Gareth Malone as he filmed his next series of 'The Choir,' this time working on singing in the workplace. Manvinder was a judge in the series broadcasted in September 2012 on BBC2. In 2014 he formed his own professional chamber choir, Serafine, and chamber orchestra, Serafine Sinfonia, with whom he recorded Oliver Tarney's Magnificat, to critical acclaim. 2014 also saw Manvinder's Royal Albert Hall conducting debut, and in 2016, his Royal Festival Hall and Indian conducting debuts.

In 2016, Dr. Rattan was awarded an honorary doctorate by his Alma Mater, York St John University, in recognition of his achievements in the fields of music and conducting. In 2021, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music in Choral Directing.
